What happens
Jim Kinsella, badly injured in a laboratory explosion in the Mexican wilderness, wakes in a hospital with a new face. The surgeon, Dr. Bauman, has rebuilt it to resemble Jim's dead friend Ted Brewster, and Jim decides to pass himself off as Ted, the heir to a wealthy family in San Diego. Ted's aunt Louise and his fiancee Judy welcome him home, but Jim struggles with gaps in his memory. Then a caller threatens him, and Dr. Bauman arrives demanding money to keep the secret. The Whistler series, an old-time radio drama, presents this episode with Jeff Chandler, Francis Robinson and Paul MacVay in the leading roles, originally broadcast on April 24, 1949.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
