What happens

Lord and Lady Greystoke live in a rude but sturdy hut in the West African jungle, after being marooned there by a mutinous crew. Their infant son is celebrating his first birthday. Lady Alice is frightened by the sounds of the jungle, and John reassures her as the night grows tense. A great bull ape roams the clearing, and the calm of the night gives way to danger. Lord Greystoke goes out to the shed for wood, and Alice waits alone in the hut.

A rude but strongly built hut in the West African jungle, on the night of the infant Tarzan's first birthday.

Characters: Lord Greystoke, Lady Alice Greystoke, Tarzan, Kala, Akut

Listen for: The rising fear in the jungle sounds, the bull ape's rage, and the sound of Grace Greystoke's axe.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
