What happens

Tarzan, now a young man, swings through the African jungle on his way to a small hut by the sea, a place he discovered long ago and where he has learned to read and write. Along the way he witnesses a lioness and her cubs threatened by a great python, and he risks his life to rescue one of the cubs. This is an episode of the Tarzan radio series, adapted from Edgar Rice Burroughs' novel, and first aired on 14 September 1932.

The African jungle, and a small hut on the shore of the great water

Characters: Tarzan, Sheeta

Listen for: Tarzan's leap to save the lion cub from the python

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
