What happens
Tarzan leads Jeanette, Ashley and Oruk through tunnels beneath the city of Tor after they escape a dungeon where they awaited sacrifice. In a passage blocked by a chained black leopard, Tarzan subdues the animal so the group can slip into a side corridor before the approaching yellow men find them. Their route then leads over a narrow bridge above a pit of fire, where a column of flame rises whenever a stone block in the chamber above is opened. Oruk recalls that Darno and Luka set out to reach the roof of a watchtower, and the group presses on through the underground passages, still pursued by the Torians.
