What happens

Tarzan and a young prospector named Johnny Convey are friends, but their relationship is strained after Johnny finds a rich gold strike in the Congo and asks Tarzan to help him transport it to Omdurmara. Tarzan refuses, believing gold brings violence, and Johnny sets out alone. Tarzan secretly follows him, and Johnny later arrives in the city to exchange samples for a government payment. Johnny is then found dead at his hotel, and Tarzan sets out on a jungle safari with rival claimants to the gold, each suspecting the others. The Tarzan radio series, adapted from Edgar Rice Burroughs, presents this broadcast from December 13, 1951, with the story as told in its first part.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
