What happens

Homicide Lieutenant Ed Harvey and his partner Cass arrest a man named Coleman in his apartment after a killing. Coleman insists he fired his gun into the floor by mistake and calmly answers their questions, while the police gather witnesses who identify him near the victim's building. Harvey's superior presses him for proof, and Harvey begins to doubt that the ballistics evidence fits the case. This suspense play is adapted from a Cornell Woolrich story and performed on the Suspense radio series, with Howard De Silva as Harvey. The broadcast aired on March 13, 1947, and was sponsored by Roma Wines.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
