What happens

On Christmas Eve, young Kathy Harper waits at home with her housekeeper, Miss Buff, for her parents to return from Paris. Their flight has been delayed, and the news from the airport grows worrying. Kathy and Miss Buff spend the day visiting relatives and walking through the snowy streets, but Kathy's mood darkens as she senses something is wrong. A reporter calls and comes to the house, unsettling everyone. Greer Garson stars in this holiday dramatization of Twas the Night Before Christmas, broadcast on Suspense on December 21, 1953, with Ann Whitfield as Kathy.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
