What happens

Jimmy Dawson moves with his wife Helen into a new double bungalow, its twin front doors bearing identical tree-of-life designs. Helen wants gracious living, and Jimmy has begun planning to kill her. One night he returns to the house and unlocks what he believes is his door, only to find two hired gunmen inside with a dead woman on the couch. They believe he is his neighbor Kent Roxborough, who hired them to kill his wife. Mark Stevens stars in this Suspense play, presented by Roma Wines in the series' 1947 broadcast of January 2, 1947. Jimmy must keep up the deception while the gunmen search the house and demand money.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
