What happens
Professor Owen Kraft and his young wife Cynthia sit by the fire in their isolated English cottage on a windy December night in 1941. Their quiet evening turns tense as Owen presses Cynthia to drink a hot rum and lemon, and his questions reveal suspicion about her feelings toward a young American doctor, Jim Craig. Owen speaks of a letter he had her post to the coroner. The story is part of the Suspense series, broadcast by CBS on December 15, 1942, with Peter Lorre starring as Owen Kraft, alongside Alice Frost as Cynthia and David Garthard as Dr. Craig.

Listen for: Owen's calm, pointed questions about Cynthia's evening and the letter she posted, and the tension of their conversation by the fire.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
