What happens

In New York City, detectives investigate the murder of young Dolores Robbins, found strangled with a rose stem in her apartment. A dozen roses lie nearby, each stem wired for support. Detectives Pete and Carver trace the flowers to a small florist shop run by Helen Craig, where a customer named Carl Owens bought a dozen happiness roses. Helen, who is lonely and wary of flattery, soon becomes the focus of Owens's attention. The story is presented on the Suspense radio series, first broadcast June 5, 1956, and features Paula Winslow in the lead role.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
