What happens
Martin Ames, a retired actor living across the street from an apartment building, becomes convinced that a motionless man sits dead in a chair in one of its windows. He reports it to the building superintendent and then to the police, who search the apartment of the two elderly sisters, Vivian and Elaine Landis, and find nothing. The sisters are unnerved by Ames's persistent watching, and he grows increasingly obsessed with the image. Ames has inherited a sense of mystery from his artistic temperament and insists the apparition is supernatural. The episode is a Suspense radio play from December 19, 1946, written by Lucille Fletcher and starring Joseph Cotton.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
