What happens

Insurance fire investigator Harry Jordan returns home late one night to find his wife Marie gone from their bed, and her story about where she went does not match what he is told. Harry begins to suspect her, and a series of fires in the district raises his fears. Suspense is a radio series, and this 1949 episode aired on May 26, 1949, with Frederick March in the lead role. The play builds its tension through small clues: a missing locket, a bag of matches, and a cup of cocoa. Harry must decide what to make of the evidence before he confronts his wife.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
