What happens
Virginia Bruce stars as Miss Rhodes, a woman who believes Tom Nixon, the man who murdered her mother ten years earlier, has escaped from prison and is now working as an elevator operator in her apartment building. She sees a man with his face and manner, and he seems to be toying with her, so she visits Warden Graves to ask for help. Graves shows her Nixon's grave and belongings, and tries to reassure her that the resemblance is only in her mind. Richard Warren appears as the elevator operator, whose true identity is what drives the story. The episode, from the Suspense series, aired on October 26, 1944.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
