What happens
Fred Spong, a drifter new to the town of Springdale, meets a stranger named Carter under an awning in the rain and secretly takes him up to his room. Carter, who is obsessed with murder and has written a book about it, talks at length about motives and about the recent killings in other cities. Spong, uneasy and drawn to a waitress named Amy, decides to see her that night. The first part of the episode leaves Spong's movements and Carter's intentions unsettled. This is from the Suspense series, and the episode is titled The Next Murder.
