What happens

Sanger Rainsford, a famous hunter, survives a shipwreck and reaches a remote island. He meets General Zaroff, a courteous host who keeps a castle and a collection of trophy heads. Over dinner Zaroff explains that he hunts what he calls the most dangerous game: men he has brought to the island. Rainsford is horrified and refuses to take part. The episode is the first of a four-week run of Suspense on Columbia, with Orson Welles as guest star from Hollywood, and it is based on the story by Richard Connell. Keenan Wynn plays Rainsford and Orson Welles plays Zaroff.

A remote island with jungle, a swamp and a castle, reached after a ship wreck at sea.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
