What happens

Police in the city hunt a killer who strikes at night in the fog, leaving women dead with no clear pattern or motive. A woman named Mimi Cast reads newspaper accounts of the murders and sketches a map connecting the crime sites, convinced the killer lives where its diagonals cross. Her husband Ben works nights at a factory and begins to behave strangely, especially on nights when he misses work. Mimi grows frightened and uneasy about what she has noticed. The episode is Suspense's broadcast of The Man in the Fog, which aired on September 24, 1961, starring Robert Dryden and Ethel Everett and written by Joseph Cochran.

A city during a series of fog-shrouded murders, centering on a working-class home and a factory.

Characters: Mimi Cast, Ben Cast, Inspector Bridge, Mrs. Kerst

Listen for: Mimi's growing suspicion of her husband Ben as she studies the murder map and his unusual absences from work.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
