What happens

Suspense presents a dramatized account of Joaquin Murieta, starring Victor Mature, first broadcast February 16, 1953. Murieta and his wife Carmen travel to the California goldfields, hoping for a better life. After a dispute over a claim, Carmen is killed by a man named O'Brien, and Murieta vows revenge. He gathers a band of men who carry out raids across the territory, but he grows uneasy with the killing and the attention it brings. Murieta returns to Calveras, where he seeks O'Brien while a posse hunts the band. The episode follows his movements as the pursuit tightens.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
