What happens

Kelly Raymond, a broke gambler in New York, answers a newspaper ad seeking a Londoner to drive an Englishman named Walker Hendricks across the country to San Francisco. Raymond takes the job and, on the road, begins to see a chance at Hendricks's inheritance, a sizable estate tied to documents he has seen in Hendricks's portfolio. Raymond weighs the risks of a scheme that could pay off handsomely, as the two men travel west through Chicago and Salt Lake City. The story is part of the radio series Suspense, first broadcast on February 9, 1958, starring Herbert Marshall.

Listen for: The conversations between Raymond and Hendricks about London, and the documents in Hendricks's portfolio

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
