What happens
Henry String Bean, a young French chef newly hired at the King's Eggplant restaurant in New York, becomes friends with the head chef, Francois Pig's foot. Francois drinks heavily, and the staff whisper that he may have murdered Lucian, the sauce chef who vanished after a night out with him. Henry is drawn into the mystery as he and Francois retrace the steps of that last evening, recalling a cavernous room of white beds and a cart. The story is told as a Suspense drama, first broadcast on February 16, 1958, with Maurice Marsak starring.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
