What happens

Myra and her lover Ted plot to kill Myra's husband Harry by hiding a bomb in his suitcase during his overseas business trip. Myra slips the device into the luggage while Harry packs, believing it is a birthday gift. When the plane's departure is uncertain because of heavy smog, the two nervously check whether the flight has taken off. The story is from the Suspense radio series, first broadcast on November 8, 1959, and the transcript does not name the lead actors. The guide ends at the point where Myra and Ted, sensing danger, begin to improvise a new plan.

A city apartment during heavy smog, with airport flights in doubt, late on the day of Harry's overseas business trip.

Characters: Myra, Harry Jason, Ted

Listen for: The sound of Harry packing his suitcase and the tense telephone calls about whether his flight has left on schedule.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
