What happens
Frank Townsend wakes on Tillery Street in December 1944 with a head wound and no memory of the past three years, having lost his memory since July 1941. Learning that his partner Johnny Gale is dead, he finds his old apartment kept for him, and a gray-eyed stranger appears who claims to know what Townsend did. Robert Montgomery stars in this Suspense play, adapted from the novel by Cornell Woolrich and first broadcast on January 3, 1948. Townsend is caught between confusion and fear as he tries to learn who he was and why strangers want him dead.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
