What happens
Frank Jeremy, an independent film producer, cancels a dinner engagement with his wife Eve so he can drive to Malibu to see the actress Lorna Moore, about whom Eve is already jealous. Alone and angry, Eve follows him to the beach house and finds Lorna dead on the floor. Confused and frightened, she takes a few items from the scene and leaves. The story is told in June Havoc's performance as Eve, with William Johnstone as Frank and Wally Maher as Jerry Jordan, in this 1948 episode of Suspense.
Hollywood, California, in the late 1940s: the Jeremys' home, a beach house in Malibu, and a courtroom.
Characters: Eve Jeremy, Frank Jeremy, Lorna Moore, Jerry Jordan, Mr. Benedict
Listen for: Eve's first visit to the Malibu beach house, where she discovers the body and finds the gold compact and the message scrawled in lipstick.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
