What happens
Eldon Bottle, a senior bookkeeper in London, is pressed by his daughter Diana to think about remarrying after his retirement. On his commute he is nearly struck by a car and is rescued by Ethel Macquatch, a widow who soon sets her sights on him. Their courtship moves quickly, and before long Eldon finds himself married to her and living in her house, where she begins dismantling the life he knew. Diana's concern and his own mounting frustration shape the events that follow. Based on the Suspense radio series, this episode first aired on September 20, 1959.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
