What happens
In the suburban town of Woodlake, a series of brutal killings has left residents on edge. Alan Gordon works late as an auditor, leaving his wife Ellen and daughter Stephanie at home, while neighbor Rosa Beppler is asked to stay with them. Police have a few men patrolling the area, and the Gordons' house becomes the focus of a tense night. Ellen speaks with her husband by telephone as the hours pass, and Stephanie and her mother listen for strange sounds outside. The episode is part of the Suspense radio series, first broadcast on March 6, 1960.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
