What happens
A British sportsman is captured after a failed attempt on a European leader's life, and he is taken to a cliff and left to fall. Clinging to the rocks, he survives the drop, crawls through marsh and river, and hides in a tree from the men searching for him. He eventually escapes to England with the help of a sailor, but a German agent and a major pursue him. He hides in a remote Dorset dugout to wait out the danger, where he befriends a stray cat. The story is part of the Suspense radio series, first broadcast on December 31, 1951, and starring Herbert Marshall.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
