What happens

Gerald Brewer, a paper hanger, is stuck in a private house elevator between the first and second floors after the power fails and no one answers his calls. From the gap above the floor he overhears Harry and Janet discussing a plan to kill Mrs. Rogers, and recognizes the voice of Mr. Rogers. Brewer knows that anyone who had heard such a plan would be in danger, so he stays silent and tries to work out what to do. The episode is from the Suspense radio series, first broadcast on August 11, 1957, and stars Lloyd Bridges.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
