What happens

Joe Mooney, a sidewalk photographer, takes a snapshot of a man who collapses on a busy street on a hot afternoon. Believing the man has been murdered, Joe goes home to tell his wife Maude, but two men claiming to be police take him away with his car and the body. The episode is part of the Suspense radio series, produced by William Spier and presented by Roma Wines. Michael O'Shea stars as Joe in this play, which follows his attempts to recover his camera and the film inside it as he is drawn deeper into a dangerous situation.

A hot summer day and night in an American city, including a busy main street, a drugstore, a police car, and a rented apartment.

Characters: Joe Mooney, Maude, Jake, Frankie, Harry, Mrs. Mooney

Listen for: Listen for how Joe's mistaken identity with the men who take him away and the lost film keep building the tension.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
