What happens
Bernie Hahn, a newspaper photographer, learns that his son Bobby died after going off the highway, and he suspects murder rather than a traffic accident. Bobby was carrying exposed photographic plates when he died, and they have vanished. Bernie brings his suspicions to Sergeant Quad, and together they find a green paint trace and a motorcycle kick pedal that point to a rider from a rival cycle club. Bernie goes undercover to track down the man in the photographs. This is the story of Suspense, a radio drama first broadcast on April 24, 1960. Lead actors are not named in the transcript.
A city with motorcycle clubs, a motorcycle race at Mills Field, a police garage, and the streets and car wash on the north side.
Characters: Bernie, Bobby, Sergeant Quad, Big Red, Rocco Malatesta, Shorty, Morris
Listen for: Bernie's growing determination to find Bobby's killer, and the way the investigation links the dead motorcycle rider to the cycle club raids.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
