What happens

Lorna Blake, believing she is dying, leaves a poisoned meal for her husband Warren after learning he has been seeing another woman. She records a message on a booth at a large drugstore, then tries desperately to get it back before it is mailed. Her frantic search takes her from the drugstore to the post office collection boxes and across town. The episode is Suspense, first broadcast on May 1, 1960, from a story by Milton Geiger, with Rita Lloyd as Lorna and Phil Mieder as Warren.

A large drugstore in the city, with its record booth, and the streets around it; later the Blakes' home and a hotel room.

Characters: Lorna Blake, Warren Blake, Dr. Quillan, Mr. Debit, Mrs. Plank, Ben

Listen for: Lorna's frantic attempts to recover her recorded message from the mail before it is delivered.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
