What happens

Jim Russell is scheduled to be executed for the murder of his uncle, Cory, and his lawyer has no new evidence to offer the governor. Jim insists on his innocence, and his wife Emily begins to suspect that his brother Steve may have been involved. Emily learns that Steve stands to inherit a large sum of money if Jim dies, and she sets out to find the woman who gave Steve his alibi. As the hours pass and the storm worsens, Emily and Jim's attorney race against the clock to find proof before the execution.

A town during a violent storm, with the execution scheduled for the night, and locations including a lawyer's office, a bar, and a riverside road.

Characters: Jim Russell, Emily, Steve, Muriel Mallard, Mr. Rutland, Uncle Cory, Fred Baines, Parker

Listen for: Listen for Emily's search for the woman who provided Steve's alibi, and for the race against the clock as the time of the execution approaches.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
