What happens
Richard Sampson, a lawyer, finds his former acquaintance Alan Renwick waiting on his doorstep one wet night. Alan confesses that he has murdered Baines, a blackmailer who threatened to expose letters written by a lady. Sampson reluctantly agrees to hide him in his flat, and the two men begin a tense arrangement in which Alan depends entirely on the lawyer's goodwill. Herbert Marshall stars as Richard Sampson, with Norman Lloyd as Alan Renwick, in this Suspense play by Richard Hull.
London, England, in a city flat and along the English coast, around the early 1940s era of the play.

Listen for: Listen for Richard Sampson's first exchange with Alan Renwick at the door, and for how the lawyer's motives for helping him are gradually revealed.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
