What happens

Thomas Bram, a first mate newly licensed after abstaining from drink, signs on the bark Herbert Fuller out of Boston under Captain Nash. Aboard are the captain's young wife Laura, a passenger named Lester Monks, and the second mate August Blomburg, who grows hostile toward Bram over his refusal to drink. Bram recounts the voyage in a letter to his friend Mr. Cooper, written as a formal report. A quarrel erupts, Laura and Bram grow close, and wine is shared in her quarters. Bram then wakes to find the captain, his wife and the second mate dead, killed with an axe. The episode is Suspense, aired April 14, 1952, starring Richard Widmark.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
