What happens

Jesse Larkin, living with her roommate Edna, reads newspaper reports of the murder of Tommy Howard, found dead in Woodland Grove. Jesse finds his face uncannily like that of Henry Hackett, a former suitor who died recently and who once warned her she was responsible for his fate. Jesse cannot account for her whereabouts between five and seven on the Tuesday of the killing, and she begins to fear she was the murderer. She visits Henry's former girlfriends to check their alibis, and a police officer watches her with suspicion. Spurred by guilt, she prepares to confess. The episode is a half-hour drama on the Suspense series, first broadcast on September 15, 1949, starring Dorothy McGuire.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
