What happens
Wally and Jan Pindell buy an old trunk at an auction for three dollars without knowing what is inside. When they open it at home they find what looks like jewels hidden beneath old rags and papers. Soon a stranger named Mr. Minchi arrives at their door, offering to buy the trunk and making increasingly stern threats when they refuse. The couple grows frightened as they try to call the police, their phone line being unreliable. Their troubles deepen as the night goes on, with a man lying wounded in their bedroom and the menace outside growing. The story is performed by Tom Brown and Eve McVey on the Suspense series.
A residential street and the Pindells' home, following an afternoon auction where an old trunk was sold.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
