What happens

White hunter Geoffrey Cross and his tracker Charlie lead a wealthy American, Howard Batson, through the Kenya savannah in search of a lion. Batson fires at the animal without orders and wounds it, and the lion retreats into dense elephant grass. Cross and Charlie track the wounded beast through the rain, and tension rises as they discover a lioness behind them and a growing unease in Cross, who has begun to doubt his nerve. This episode of Suspense, first broadcast on March 16, 1958, is starring Everett Sloan.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
