What happens

Ronald Dunham, drunk after his bachelor party, returns home to find himself in a strange flat with a dead man, a murdered Frenchman named Pierre de Roch, and five canaries singing in the dining room. When Ronald sobers up and tells his fiancée Anita about it, nobody can locate the flat, and the body is soon found in the palm garden downstairs. Inspector Braddock questions Ronald, his uncle Rufus Denham and Fifi Latour, while Ronald insists the room existed. The episode is part of the Suspense radio series, first broadcast on June 8, 1943, with Lee Bowman as Ronald Denham and Anita played by Munson. Episode details are drawn from the transcript and the story is still developing when this excerpt ends.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
