What happens

Joe Thurston, a machine shop worker in Indiana, agrees to take part in a scheme with his old wartime friend Sam Monroe, who has come to him in Chicago with a plan to split a hundred thousand dollars. Joe moves his family to a small town, buys an inexpensive car, and increases his insurance liability coverage, as the plan requires. Sam then arrives in the same town, and the two men meet secretly to set the staged accident in motion. The episode is from the CBS series Suspense, originally broadcast on January 13, 1955, with Harry Bartell and Peter Leeds starring.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
