What happens
Reporter J. Conrad Allen visits a state penitentiary to write an article about prison life, and is taken hostage when inmates of the old cell block seize control. The prisoners demand better conditions and an end to the dungeon and punishment such as straitjackets and chains. Allen is pressed into service as a go-between, sending his story to a newspaper and speaking with the warden. Suspense aired this episode, titled Eyewitness, on December 16, 1956, with Howard Duff in the lead role. The prisoners' tension rises as deadlines pass and the guards become targets. The mutiny unfolds through the night and into the next morning.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
