What happens

Speed Evans, an automobile salesman, begins an affair with Sylvia Gannell, the wife of a customer who buys an Excelsior car from him. As their relationship grows strained, Sylvia reveals a troubling memory about her late father, and Speed sets out to learn the truth about how he died in a mining accident in Phoebe, Arizona, ten years earlier. This Suspense radio play, originally broadcast on February 6, 1947, stars Glenn Ford as Speed Evans, and the cast also features Kathy Lewis as Sylvia Gannell. The story unfolds through a series of confrontations and conversations as Speed pursues the facts behind the old tragedy.

A modern automobile showroom and an apartment in an American city, then the road to, and the town of, Phoebe, Arizona.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
