Kenyon becomes increasingly anxious about the music and the man next door, Williams, and decides to find out more about him. The series is Suspense, first broadcast on November 6, 1947, with Henry Morgan in the lead role.

A city apartment building, its basement apartment, and nearby park in 1940s America

Characters: Charles Kenyon, Mr. Kenyon, Sam Fields, Torsten, Williams, Mr. Blackwell, Mr. Robinson, Inspector Fields

Listen for: The same recorded song playing from the apartment next door, and the inspector's questions about the killings

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
