What happens

Emily Ward, recently hurt in a fall and now troubled in mind, is taken by her husband Todd on a drive to places from their past, which he says they will celebrate on their eighth wedding anniversary. Emily grows uneasy after finding a box of bullets in the car and a letter about arranging care for her elsewhere. Todd's manner grows more strained as they leave the lake for a hotel dinner and then the lovers' lane where they once met. The episode is part of the Suspense radio series, first broadcast on September 23, 1948, with Robert Young and Virginia Bruce in the leading roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
