What happens

Oliver Littlefield, a bookkeeper, has a bad morning: his wife Laura criticizes his blue tie and his health, his employer Mr. Bevins fires him after a sharp exchange, and a stranger keeps remarking that he looks ill. Brooding over his marriage, Oliver begins to plan Laura's death. This Suspense play, presented on Roma Wines' radio drama series, stars Hume Cronin and first aired on August 29, 1946. The story follows his preparations and the events that follow.

A town in the United States in the 1940s, including the Littlefield home, an office, a public library and a photographic supply store.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
