What happens
Vic Roberts, a trumpet player in New Orleans, returns to his boarding house after a night at a jazz club and finds his wife Sarah with another man. After an argument, Vic is arrested by Sergeant Juneau for her murder, and the police take his confession. Vic recounts how his marriage soured, how Luanna Doran drew him into an affair, and how the night ended. Detective Lieutenant Angelini is also involved in the case.
