What happens

Schoolteacher Mildred Gideon, travelling on a Mediterranean cruise, witnesses a dead American sailor on the dock at Beirut at dawn, though the police find no trace of him. Later, while sightseeing with a tour group, she meets Mr. Haroon, a charming companion, and Frank Grady, a fellow passenger she finds dull. Suspense presented the play on May 31, 1955, starring Mary Jane Croft. Mildred begins to suspect that something far more dangerous than a tourist's imagination is tied to the sailor's death and to a message she was given at the Sultan's turret.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
