What happens
Bank teller Jane Evans gets engaged to Harold Osborn, the bank's assistant manager, on the morning of a robbery. Two armed men hold up the bank and seize Jane, who had spoken up to Harold in front of them, and take her with them as a hostage. Jane is blindfolded and driven off in a blue car, with the two men arguing over what to do with her. She tries to make sense of her situation as the pair grow more volatile and talk of her fate. The episode is a Suspense play, presented by Romo Wines, starring Bonita Granville, with a script by Robert Richards.
A bank in a California town, then a desert road and a mountain area in California.
Characters: Jane Evans, Harold Osborn, Frank, Sonny
Listen for: The argument between Frank and Sonny in the car, and Jane's conversation with Frank as they flee.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
