What happens

In 1908, George Miller, driving the Thomas Flyer, takes part in a race from New York to Paris by way of Siberia against rival teams from France, Germany and Italy. Along the way the crew faces mud, a broken clutch shaft in the desert, and the difficult roads and weather of Alaska and Siberia. Correspondent Mr. Colby, mechanic Montague Roberts and Marty ride with Miller as the cars cross the continent and make their way toward Paris. This episode is part of the Suspense radio series and is presented by Van Johnson, with the transcript covering the first part of the story.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
