What happens

Claude Boucher, a respectable man of modest income, finds a bundle of about $98,000 in cash in a field and takes it home to his wife Alice. Seeking advice, he visits lawyer Tom Haskell, who explains the options of keeping the money or turning it over to the police. Boucher then goes to Lieutenant Gaston, who warns him that the story will reach the papers. Anonymous threats and calls begin to plague Boucher as he grows increasingly anxious and suspicious, and he feels he is being watched and hunted.

A town in the United States, with Boucher's home and office, a lawyer's office, and police headquarters.

Listen for: Boucher's growing fear as anonymous threats and demands arrive and he realizes the money could be linked to an old robbery.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
