What happens
Judd, a mind-reader who performs nightclub acts with his wife Rory, discovers that their stage act, long based on a hidden gimmick, has begun to work through real telepathy. Rory begins to have visions, and she senses that their agent, Harry Arnold, intends to kill her. Judd, uneasy and trying to protect her, buys a revolver and watches the situation closely. The episode is part of the CBS series Suspense, first broadcast on June 1, 1953, with Ronald Coleman starring. The story is told through Judd's account to a police lieutenant as he recounts the events leading up to a tense night at the hotel.
A nightclub act and hotel suites in a city, with a hotel bar on Sunset and a police interview room.
Characters: Judd, Rory, Harry Arnold, Stanford, Lieutenant
Listen for: Rory's sudden visions and Judd's reactions to them as the act begins to work without its gimmick.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
