What happens
Gaston, a veteran logger at the Barford camp on the Big Beaver, tells camp boss Phil Harmon that he is quitting because of the white plague, a legend of deaths in the northern woods. Harmon and foreman Bill Dawson dismiss the talk as superstition, though they admit that two men have died recently in strange ways. When Gaston screams outside his cabin and then vanishes, the men search the snow for him. Meanwhile, Clark Kent and Jimmy Olsen travel north by train and dog sled toward the camp after a telegram from Mr. White warns of trouble there. The episode is the first part of a two-part story in the Superman radio series, which premiered in 1940. Its lead actors are not named in the transcript.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
