What happens
Perry White and Clark Kent pursue the Vulture, a master criminal who escaped from police custody after Superman captured him. Inspector Henderson is embarrassed by the escape, and Perry worries the Vulture will try to steal the mechanical man model Dr. Leander Cameron built. Clark suspects a clever trick explains how the prisoner got his hacksaw blade past the guards. The men go to the Metropolis City Bank, where the bank president opens the vault to confirm the model is safe and inside. The next morning, the group returns to collect the model for a demonstration, only to find the vault empty. A tiny wooden vulture carving lies in its place, and the men are left wondering how the theft was accomplished. This is an episode of The Adventures of Superman, which aired on January 15, 1943.
